This is an undivided back postcard of St Catherine's Convent in Benicia. The postmark is 09/10/1905 in Benicia. The back is addressed to Mr. Howard W. Davis in Berkeley, CA. The message is from his mother (Daisy). It says she was going to send him a letter but found she has no paper. Most of the message is damaged and not readable. We know the card was originally published by Frank Stumm of Benicia because the image used comes from one of his postcards but has been shrunk to just half the size.
Howard Wetmore Davis is the child of Daisy (06/15/1863) and John Frederick Davis and was born in Benicia. Howard was born in Benicia 03/26/1884 and died 12/27/1955. He is buried in the city cemetery in Benicia.Collection
