B/W Photo taken from Benicia Arsenal Manual. Building #2 - Magazine 1855 Cost $30,012. Stone walls with corregated iron roof and wood trusses. 35.6' x 104' and 2414 sq. ft. area. Floor - wood. (per label on back of photo) This magazine was built by Caleb S. Merrill, master mason hired by the army. See 2019.021.0052 for the contract between Captain Charles P. Stone and Caleb Strong Merrill for the cutting of stone and then construction of Powder Magazine 2.
