Newspaper photo of the dedication ceremonies for the California State Historical Landmark honoring the 1852 founding in Benicia of the Young Ladies Seminary -- forerunner of today's Mills College (May 2, 1965). Given to Jack O'Grady by Benicia Herald editor Marcus Griffin.
Shown in the photo is Wendy Hull of Stockton one of four current Mills College students who are decendants of early Benicia Seminaray students. Her great grandmother Elizabeth Johnson Tupper of San Francisco attended the Seminary in 1868-1870.Collection
