B/W aerial photograph taken between 1973 and 1976. The shoreline of the Carquinez Strait to well north of the Benicia City Limits is covered. Locations of note: Lake Herman to the west, the City and bridges to the south and Internationa Technology Toxic Wast Facility* to the north.
*The International Technology Corp - Panoche Facility is located on 248 acres north of Benicia. It was fully operational as a toxic waste facility from 1968 through 1986. After problems with leaking ponds and storage drums, and ground water contamination it was closed. It is in "post closure" operation undergoing constant monitoring and remediation to redue the remaining contamination.Collection
