A copy of a photo from the California State Library Benicia collection. The original is a daguerreotype of the Benicia waterfront circa 1858. The photos were taken for the Gulick brothers who were early Benicia businessmen. The white two-story building in the center of the waterfront is probably the Knickerbnocker Emporium which is shown up close in another photo. On the side of that building it says "Wells Fargo Co.".
The black and white copy is from the California State Library. The color version was taken at the library from the original and is only in digital format.Collection
