This is an item taken out of Vera Parker's scrapbook.
A photo of a family sitting on the steps of a house with vines surrounding them. The tag that was next to the photo identifies the family as William Ripsom. This is the family that lived in the house shown in photo 2014.011.0365 - 0367. In fact, the steps in this photo match the steps in the photo of the house and the older man in this photo looks like the man in the other house photos.
William Matthias Ripsom owned the Ripsom House, a hotel/boarding house in Benicia in the early 1900's. The Ripsom House was part of the same building as what later became the Anderson Hotel. Attached is a newspaper article from the Benicia Hearld of 09/09/1937 discussing the Anderson hotel.
