Copy print from newspaper, The Bulletin, San Francisco, March 1901. Eva and Rundle Chapman, daughter of Eugene Chapman and grandaughter of Matthew Turner. Rundle christened the ship "Solano" on that date. (See newspaper account in Turner file.) B/W photo. Poor reproduction.
Copy of newspaper account from the Benicia Herald is attached in images. This is probably a set piece that was run in several newspapers. It contains the same photo of the Chapman children. The ship being christened is a sail vessel not the ferryboat Solano.Collection
