It is a photograph taken by a Benicia Herald Photographer (photo no. 1820) of a community event. The location has been identified as the downstairs area of the Portuguese Hall on West J Street. The occasion of the dinner is unknown. It is believed to have taken place in 1960 or 1961.
Some individuals are identified: standing to the left: Roberta Marchioni, wearing a "gondola" name tag; seated in front of her are Ida and Jack Gonsalves (facing the camera); just to the right of center facing the camera is Mr. Kishell, to his left is his daughter Joanne; further to the right in the photo is the Casagranda family, Mr. & Mrs. Al, Kathleen and Michael. In the background are other young ladies (Lanai Mello and Paula Elshire( assisting the diners.Collection
