B/W Photograph: "Hole in roof "of Powder Magazine 2 caused by airplane bomb entering from Magazine 11 after it exploded in 1922. The slate roof was replaced in 1923 with a corregated iron roof.
This magazine was built by Caleb S. Merrill, master mason hired by the army. See 2019.021.0052 for the contract between Captain Charles P. Stone and Caleb Strong Merrill for the cutting of stone and then construction of Powder Magazine 2.Collection
