Photograph of a chromolithograph of a painting entitled "Mt. Diablo, Cal". Painted in 1872 by John Ross Key (1837-1920). He was raised by his grandfather Francis Scott Key who wrote the Star Spangled Banner. He moved to San Francisco in 1869. (this is from a note on the inside cover.
