Photo of a lithograph of the Benicia Arsenal in 1859. The caption says "View of Benicia Arsenal Grounds". The creator is Hugo Hochhuleer who "drew the scene from nature".
The photo was taken by Silas Selleck (1828-1885) from his studio, "Cosmopoliton Art Gallery" in San Francisco, Ca. The studio was in existance from 1862 - 1876. He worked at 163 Clay St in S.F. from 1857-1861. These dates may indicate that the photo was taken later than the scene depicted on the lithograph.Collection
