This is a photo of the Fischer-Hanlon House (135 West "G" Street, Benicia, CA) which was donated to the State of California in September, 1969. It is now part of the Benicia State Capitol State Historic Park.
This photo shows the house. There is a paper description on the back of the photo. It says it was built in 1850 as a hotel (Eulalie House) and was located on First Street. In 1865 it was partially destroyed by fire. Mr. Joseph Fischer, a cattleman and quarry owner, had the structure moved to its present site. He had it repaired and enlarged and converted into his family residence. With the passing of time, Fischer's granddaughters, Misses Marie Rose, Catherine and Raphaelita Hanlon inherited the house. After the death of Marie Rose, Catherine and Raphaelita donated the house and its furnishings to the State. In September 1969 it became part of the Benicia Capitol State Historical Park.
