Italianate Style
This two story plain frame Italianate with truncated hip roof is rectangular in shape. The front has three evenly spaced double hung wooden sash windows on the second story. The center front door is recessed and has an arched hip roof covered porch entry. The posts are turned. On either side of the porch are narrow pairs of double hung windows. The roof culminates in a boxed cornice with plain frieze. The end boards at the corners are plain. The house is sheathed in horizontal shiplap siding and the roof is composition shingles.
The Sanborn Insurance Maps of 1886, 1891 and 1899 show this lot as vacant. However, the 1919 Tax Appraisal form shows a 40-year-old two story house with rear side verandas and the front entry porch the same as today. It is therefore believed that this was an older house moved to the site between 1899 ad 1919. In 1919 It was owned by Lizzie R. Hanlon. The 1904-05 Solano County Directory shows a Mrs. J. D. Hanlon living on West F near First which is the approximate location. The Williams family owned the home up until recently and it was they who enclosed the side rear verandas circa 1930.Collection
