This unpretentious wood frame one story bungalow with low gable roof line facing the street has a wrap-around porch across most of the front and extending on the east side of the buiding. The porch columns are wood frame, reduced size elephantine, wth a broad base and tapered top. The western side of the porch is glass enclosed at the off-set front door. The main front windows have five panes above a single wood double hung sash The exterior is clad with horizontal wood siding and the house sits on a slightly raised foundation on a knol with some eighteen concrete steps leading to the front porch.
This 1920's bungalow is believed to occupy the site of an early house constructed on Lot 3, Block 20, which was subdivided by Edward H. Von Pfister after he purchased the lot from Robert Semple in March of 1849. There were at least two other buildings on the lot, two of which may remain today. The owners subsequent to Von Pfister were Jane and John Goringe or Garringe who, according to the book of claims, had a house there since 1853.Collection
