Color Photograph 129 and 131 First Street Benicia CA Parcel Number: 89-244-5 Historic Name: Hastings Warehouse and/or Kullman-Salz Tannery Common Name: The Tannery The construction date is circa 1859. In 1852 this was the site of D. N. Hastings warehouse (60' x 150'). Grain and produce were found on the wharf of rock and dirt in 1885. In 1891 it was leased to Excelcior Wine Co. for wine storage. By 1899 the property had been elarged and became part of Kullman-Salz Tannery. It was closed in 1929 and later destroyed by fire.
