This is the program from the 1982 dedication of Commodore Jones Point and a memorial to Charline D. Erwin. The Commodore was born 04/24/1790 and died 05/30/1858. He was the Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Squadron from 1841-1843 and again 1848-1850.
He was also an enthusiastic supporter of Benicia being one of the first to purchase a lot in Benicia. He bought lot 9 of block 23 from Robert Semple on 03/12/1849 for $100. He may also be the Jones that bought lot 14 on block 19 from Thomas O. Larkin for $1 on 06/10/1849.Collection
