In 1891, this quilt was beautifully designed and quilted for Eva Turner Rundle, who was the step daughter of Benicia shipbuilder Matthew Turner. Eva was born in 1870 in S.F. and was one of three children of Turner's partner Richard T. Rundle. Two years after Rundle died, Turner married the widow Ashbeline and adopted her three children; George, Charlotte and Eva. The quilt was made by one of several women in the Turner-Rundle famuly. The materials used were satin and velvet. It is on loan from Eileen Hunt, who is the great-great grandchild of Matthew Turner.Collection
