This is a speech given by the Benicia Post Commander to a group associated with the restoration of the State Capitol. This was probably about 1955. The Commander giving the speech could have been Col. Francis G. Hall.
The speech starts with the founding of Benicia by Robert Semple. It states several times that Benicia is California's "First" Capitol. This is an obvious error. Otherwise, the speech paints a very detailed picture of Capt. Stone's journey to San Francisco in 1850/1851.Collection
