Scope and Content

Framed and matted under glass: Two bumper stickers advertising and promoting the Celebrations of '49er days in Benicia; the stickers were printed by Larry E. Klump Co. of Stockton California, which was incorporated in the mid-1950's so the dates of the stickers are assumed to be 1954 and 1955 (although '49er days were celebrated in 1948 and 1949 with corresponding dates and also in other years) 1954 - "Celebrate '49er Festival Days Benicia Aug. 27-29" with a simplistic drawing of a covered wagon and oxen; dark blue background with orange and white lettering and white in the drawing; 3-1/2" x 14-1/2" 1955 - "Celebrate '49er Festival Days Benicia Aug. 26-28" with a drawing of people with a covered wagon pulled by oxen and a man on horseback; dark blue background with orange and white lettering and white in the drawing; 4" x 18"
