U.S. Model 1832 foot artillery short-sword with a 6-inch solid brass hilt, a 4-inch crossguard, and a double-edge steel blade 19 inches in length. Eagle cast into handle end. Initials J,H on crossguard one side, W A T on other.
It was intended for use by the regular artillery regiments of the United States Army and remained in service until 1872 for use of foot artillery men.Collection
