Majestic Pontiac Crown 1960s 3730 Crenshaw Boulevard, Los Angeles Donated by The Coliseum Center, LLC, & Axiom Real Estate Investments, Inc. A piece of neon from Crenshaw Boulevard’s former Majestic Pontiac dealership survives in the shape of a noviol-gold crown. Atop the Majestic text, the illustrative feature once crowned the sign’s letter J. Majestic was part of a large complex which included the neighboring Holiday Bowl and Coffee Shop (housed currently in MONA’s warehouse). Preservationists attempted to save the historic Googie bowling alley from the wrecking ball, but lost. The framing for the property’s monumental signage was retained and repurposed for new businesses, but the lettering for the vintage tenants was removed, including this crown from Majestic Pontiac.
