Flynn’s Arcade
2010
Donated by The Walt Disney Company, with thanks to Buena Vista Special Events and Walt Disney Imagineering
The iconic Flynn’s Arcade from the movie "Tron" (1982) was the user-world centerpiece where character Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) lived, worked, and planned his revenge against a man and company that stole the popular video games he had designed: Space Paranoids, Light Cycles, and more. When the story was revisited by Tron: Legacy (2010), the shuttered Flynn’s Arcade was a mysterious puzzle and portal to a digital world.
In celebration of the second film, Disney constructed this neon arcade sign for San Diego’s Comic-Con and used it again at Disney’s California Adventure for a year-long ElecTRONica celebration.
