A quarter-plate gelatin silver glass plate negative. It shows eight men and four women sitting or lying in front of a tiled fireplace, mainly facing the photographer. Some are reading newspapers, one man is reading a book. The fireplace has a large mantlepiece on which are placed a clock and two candlesticks ; a copy of Raphael's Sistine Madonna hangs above the fireplace. The sitters and location are unknown. The men wear ties and jackets. Two of the women wear long coats.Collection
