Context

Herbert A. Kenny was a journalist of the Boston Post for 23 years, editor of the Boston Globe for 18 years, and author whose works consisted of a variety of genres. In this book, Kenny discusses the beginnings of "Newspaper Row" in Boston, which started after the Civil War to the late 1950s when newspaper companies, including the Boston Globe, moved to different locations or simply went out of business. The book highlights, in the years between 1890–1956, The Post dominated Newspaper Row and claimed the largest circulation of any newspaper in the country until its demise in 1956.
