Context

Ivy Lee is hailed as a founder of modern public relations, most notable for working closely with the Rockefellers and the first major railroads in the United States. In the beginning of the pamphlet, Lee wrote a brief excerpt on how "The Third Party" by Plato can be correlated with some phases of current American politics at the time of publication. Lee expressed "For more than two thousand years thoughtful observers of government and politics have studied Plato's "Republic" as a source of inspiration and wisdom".
