The eighth Foundation Lecture presented by Dr. G. Edward Pendra, Trustee of the Foundation for Public Relations Research and Education at the Annual Conference of the Public Relations Society of America in Chicago , November, 18 1968.

Context

Dr. G Edward Pendray was a senior partner of the firm Pendray & Company established in 1945. Pendray was also a reporter and editor of the New York Herald Tribune. In his address, Pendray discusses the reasoning behind his paper entitled "Time's Arrow and the Fifth Estate', stating that it is a symobolic reference to the future– the direction in which history accumulates, men and things grow old, systems and institutions prosper or decay.
