Emily Jacir is an internationally acclaimed Palestinian filmmaker and visual artist whose work delves into themes of displacement, memory, and identity. Born in Bethlehem, she grew up in Saudi Arabia and attended high school in Italy before earning a degree in art from the University of Dallas and studying at the Memphis College of Art. Jacir’s installations have been exhibited at institutions such as the Guggenheim and Tate Modern. Dividing her time between New York and Bethlehem, she is celebrated for blending political engagement with a deeply humanist approach to storytelling.
