Noura Erakat is a prominent Palestinian-American attorney, human rights advocate, and scholar whose work centers on the legal dimensions of Palestinian self-determination. Born in Alameda County, California, she earned her B.A. from UC Berkeley in 2002, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa member and a Human Rights Center Summer Fellow. She received her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2005, where she was awarded the Francine Diaz Memorial Scholarship, and completed her LL.M. at Georgetown University Law Center in 2012. Erakat is the author of Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine (2019), a seminal critique of international law’s role in Palestinian dispossession. She is an associate professor at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, and a widely recognized expert in global media on international law, justice, and Palestinian liberation.Collection
