Susan Muaddi Darraj is a celebrated Palestinian-American author. Born in Philadelphia to Palestinian immigrant parents, she earned a master’s degree in English Literature from Rutgers University–Camden. She is the author of several works of fiction, including The Inheritance of Exile (2007) and A Curious Land: Stories from Home, which won the 2016 Arab American Book Award and the American Book Award. Her writing explores themes of memory, identity, and cultural preservation. In 2019, she launched the viral #TweetYourThobe campaign and, in partnership with the Museum of the Palestinian People, helped establish the International Day of Tatreez and Palestinian Culture. Muaddi Darraj is a tenured professor of English at Harford Community College and a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Johns Hopkins University.Collection
