Baysan Region (بيسان)

Place Description

The Baysan region occupies the eastern Galilee and Jordan Valley, centered on the historic town of Baysan and extending across a low-lying landscape between the Jezreel Valley, the Jordan River, and the hills of the eastern Galilee and Samaria. Its fertile plains and abundant springs supported an intensive agricultural landscape characterized by wheat, barley, vegetables, citrus and other fruit, olives, and date palms, alongside grazing and livestock raising, while Baysan itself served as an important agricultural and commercial center connecting the Galilee, Jordan Valley, and Transjordan.
