Place Description

A historic village and municipality in the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Lebanon, situated between Nabatieh and Tyre in a hilly landscape of the southern Lebanese interior. The surrounding landscape is agricultural, with cultivated fields, olive groves, and other Mediterranean crops characteristic of southern Lebanon, while Ansar's position near Nabatieh made it part of the region's network of rural villages and market centers.
