Place Name
I'ribbin (اعربين)Place Description
A historic Palestinian locality in the western Upper Galilee, more fully identified by PalQuest as Khirbat I'ribbin, situated high above Wadi Karkara with views toward the Lebanese border and the Mediterranean. The locality was inhabited by the Muslim Arab al-Qulaytat and included cereal cultivation, limited irrigated or orchard land, wells, caves, and animal shelters; 2,637 dunums were allocated to cereals and 16 dunums to irrigated or orchard land in the combined statistics. Khirbat I'ribbin was almost certainly occupied by 31 October 1948 during Operation Hiram, although other sources indicate that inhabitants may not have been expelled until November. Also Known As
