Qastina was a Palestinian village located northeast of Gaza. This photograph depicts the beginnings of a Jewish Zionist settlement on the village’s land, perhaps Kfar Warburg which was established in 1939 by Jewish settlers from Europe. In July 1948, Israeli forces attacked, captured and completely demolished the village of Qastina. Many of the village’s inhabitants were driven to the Gaza Strip.Collection
