To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chilean-Palestinian football Club Deportivo Palestino, Felipe Salas Aguilar visited the Museum of the Palestinian People on July 14, 2023 to meet Director of Programs and Operations, Julia Pitner. During his visit, he presented his book “Más Que Un Equipo, Todo Un Pueblo, Club Deportivo Palestino” (2017) which translates to “More than a team, a people.” Aquilar also gifted the museum a Club Deportivo Palestino jersey. Club Deportivo Palestino is a professional football club based in Santiago, Chile. The club was founded in 1920 by the Palestinian-Chilean community. Aguilar is an artist, writer and teacher, who advocates for Palestinians in Chile. Chile has the largest population of Palestinians outside of the Levant region.
