Landscape looking across a lake to a mountain range. The mountains and the trees that are in front of them are reflected in the lake. In the foreground along the small beach is a dead tree which extends into the water. The mountains and sky have a pink tint to them, perhaps suggesting sunrise. The painting is of Mount Kearsarge from Crystal Lake.
