The book details all the trails of the Presidential Range in the White Mountains. Washburn describes conditions on each trail and the views seen from all directions. He provides detailed accounts of the main trails, some miscellaneous trails, and of all the huts and shelters along the way.

Blue hardbound cover with a drawing of a mountain on the front. It was signed by Brad and Barbara Washburn in 1995. The orginal map of Mount Washington and Vicinity is missing but is replaced by a copy.
