Published in the Napa Valley Register 10/16/06 Sarah Elza (Bailey) Ahmann, Napa Born 10/17/1907 in Odessa, MO Died 10/7/2006 Lived in farms and in Greenton Ridge, near Odessa Graduated from Wellington High School in Wellington MO Attended Warrensburg State Teachers' College in Warrensburg MO Started teaching at the Fluornoy School Married Erin Ahmann in April 1929 Moved to Independence MO In 1941 started to travel to construction jobs in the Midwest, including Wichita, Kansas City, Ogallala, Topeka, Little Rock, Odessa After WWII moved to CA to follow the construction boom Worked in the Broadway Dept Stores, first at Crenshaw, then at Westchester Bought a house in Westchester in 1949 Retired in 1974 Moved to Hacienda Heights until 2001 Lived at Concordia Manor in Napa Burial held 10/21/06 at Forest Lawn Covina Hills in Covina CA
