Description

Framed color lithograph of Napa c. 1889. Titled "Birdseye View of Napa City California, Looking West." Published by David L. Haas, bookseller, stationer, and lithographer, Napa, Cal. NCHS also owns the 1871 lithograph of Napa published by Haas. On the bottom of the map there are insets which feature more detailed illustrations of the Napa County Court House, Napa State Hospital, Central Public School, and North Public School. The buildings identified in the lithograph have been entered into subjects as they appear on the lithograph. Label attached reads "Napa--About 1880. This lithograph was found in second hand store in San Francisco by Lee Boggs and presented by him to the Goodman Library." The frame was in extremely poor condition, but has been repaired by NCHS. Location: Hanging in the stairwell of the Goodman Library
