Bridge near Old Sonoma RoadEntry/Object ID
2010.111.1Description
Color photograph taken of the stone bridge on Old Sonoma Road near Highway 121. Back of photo states: "This is a bridge that has taken my family out of the Napa area weekly since 1961. It is a bridge for traveling and going places. It is thoroughly covered by growth of trees and shrubs making access to photographing it a challenge. When I approached the bridge early on the morning of the photography session, there was a large group of farm workers in a circle by the road receiving instructions from their manage/foreman. And, in the air there were frequent shotgun blasts as sportsmen were killing doves. The bridge still has its plaque in place which listed the names of the Board of Supervisors at the time the bridge was constructed, 1896."
