Back of photo states: "Napa Register Feb. 4, 1983 'Back when Napa was known as Napa City. G. Migliavacca patented a 'bottle corking apparatus'. The date was March 19, 1869. More than a century later the device turned up in the private museum of Herbert McCann which was recently bequeathed to the NCHS. Demonstrating how the invention worked is society executive director, Jess Doud.'"
