Description

A compiled report on the murals of Louise Tessin Roats (1894-1962), including her biography, the story of the murals she painted Shearer and Lincoln Elementary Schools, and the preservation of the murals before the demolition of the schools in June 1976. Four women led the project: kindergarten teacher Jana Jack, instructional assistants Carol Mayr and Louise Ericcson, and Noreen A. Hanna. Also included in this report are photocopies of Louise Tessin's faculty yearbook photographs, a letter from Tessin's niece Virginia Brenner dated July 1976, and several pages of condition reports, recommendations, and project proposals from art conservator and consultant Robin Myron Tichane. It is unknown when the biography and summary materials were written.
