What began in 1950 as a holiday sale at the Elks Club to raise funds for the non-profit Parks Victory Hospital of Napa evolved over the years into a one- to two-day affair at the Napa County fairgrounds. The classic event included lunch, dinner, a raffle and 12 specialty departments selling all manner of goods and gifts, most of which were handmade.
