The main building of the Seminary was 3 stories high, and an elegant structure built in the Italianate style with a French mansard roof. Originally built in 1872 it stood immediately north of what bay be the house, since remolded, now at 720 Seminary St. said to have been part of the Seminary. Nothing remains of the main building nor of the Seminary buildings and the site is now occupied by an apartment house. The privately operated Napa Seminary, offering predominantly cultural courses - English, French, Italian, German, Latin, drawing and painting. Vocal and instrumental music classes were Napa's equivalent of finishing school from 1860 until its impressive, 3 story main building, erected in about 1872, was sold and moved to Polk St. to become in 1897 the first Napa High School. The Seminary left its name to Seminary St."
