William Shwarz - I have referred back to my notes that I made while doing research work to write "The History of the Napa Fire Department from 1859 to 1963". The Napa City Hook an Ladder No. 1 was orgnized October 10, 1873. This is the picture of the late William Shwarz, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Herman Shwarz, was born in Napa. He was eldest son and brother of the late David and Max. Their father owned the Shwarz Hardwareand his three sons managed the store. When his two brothers passed on, Will became the sole owner. He married Hattie Crown, and they had one child, a daughter, Mrs. Muriel Grauss. He was a member of the Napa Hook and Ladder No. 1 (volunteers). Will's wife passed away about ten years before Will passed on. He died 1955 and was buried in the HIlls of Eternity Cemetery (Jewish) Colma, California. Rita Harren BordwellCollection
