Fred Quick and his son Col. James Quick raised $98,000 for the Cancer Research Foundation of the University of Chicago at a November event at the Pick Congress Hotel, their most successful charity auction to date. - $1½ Million Land Auction in Georgia (p. 5) Hudson and Marshall, Inc. conducted Georgia's largest land auction, selling 7,800 acres in Houston, Dooly, and Macon Counties for $1,421,000, drawing over 600 attendees in settlement of the Ella Peake estate. - Membership Climbs to New High Figure of 2,877 (p. 10) Reports that NAA active membership grew by 154 over the prior year to a record 2,877, with Ohio surpassing Illinois to become the top state; includes a full three-year membership table by state. - Membership, Promotion and Education (p. 16) NAA Director C. P.
