Name/Title

Speaker Horn

Description

From an issue of The Auctioneer: The JR-1 is the most powerful portable speaker made. It is powered by three 6 voltage lantern batteries, giving it 18 volts of power. Batteries last 60 hours or more. Set weighs 8 pounds. Comes with a 12 inch cord and shoulder strap and microphone support holder, which leaves both hands free. Easy to carry at your side, or it can be placed on truck top, or used on a ladder.

Context

The speaker with square battery box and the distinctive megaphone horn and hand-held mouth-piece belonged to Col. Joe Reisch. The donor, Paul Behr, assisted Col. Reisch as he used this speaker for many auctions over the years selling farm real estate, garage closeouts, household, and other sales.
