Frances Cleveland photograph album owned by George S. Miles. A note in the front of the album: "ALBUM belonged to George Miles Pictures of 'Mrs. Grover Cleveland.' his secret love through all of his life." 26 Photographs of Frances Cleveland begin with her wedding photo in 1886. The last photo was taken in 1947, the year of her death. The first six (seven total - one is misplaced) photos are from 1886 timeframe; most of these photos are well-known. There are four from the second-term of the Cleveland administration, after Frances has had childeren. Three are from 1907 - 1914 and include Frances with members of her family. Eleven photos are from 1918 until 1934 are of an aging Frances. The last photo is dated 1947, and she stands with Harry Truman and Herbert Hoover. A note and envelope are also included; the envelope is handwritten to George S. Miles with a free frank of "Frances F. Cleveland Preston" stamped June 15, 1932. The handwritten note inside states: "Permission granted with pleasure. Frances F. Cleveland Preston June 15, 1932."Collection
