Scope and Content

Maude Healy's (Ida McKinley's nurse) handwritten letter to Caro Dawes on mourning stationery, January 2, 1903. She writes that Mrs. McKinley asked her to write to acknowledge receiving the Christmas Greeting, roses, and a teacup. She'd attended Mary Barber's wedding, had dinner with Judge Day's family and the Barber family - "so you may know the holiday season has not been ignored." It has been a rainy day and Ida has been making slippers. Maude has been trying to acknowledge Christmas gifts. "Like the slipper-making, it seems to be endless."
