Jane Pierce handwritten letter to sister, Mary Aiken on two pages (second page contains the end of the letter on one side, then folded and cover sheet/envelope for entire letter and contains Franklin Pierce's signature as free frank). Letter is dated "April 1839" with the envelope stamp stating, "April 28", she writes from Concord New Hampshire speaking of her husband's absence, she is "alonely", she asks of family's health in Massachusetts, speaks of attending church services and social gatherings, and she is expecting her second child (Frank Robert Pierce 1839-1843).Collection
