The front of the postcard is a color illustration of two people roller skating peeking out from behind a wooden pole; the roller skates on both figures look as if they were sketched on (a different art style in comparison to the people themselves) On the left-hand side of the pole is a man with pale skin, reddish brown hair, and blue eyes; he is wearing a green hat, a brown plaid suit jacket and pants, a white collared shirt, a red vest or tie, red gloves with a dot of yellow on them, and black roller skating shoes. On the right-hand side of the pole is a woman with reddish brown hair, pale skin, and brown eyes; she is wearing a mustard yellow hat, a white scarf with yellow splashes, a green plaid jacket, yellow gloves with a dot of red on them, a pink and black skirt or dress, and black roller skating shoes. The sketched detailing of the pole, the skates, and the print is in gold. The printed text at the bottom: "Merrily we roll along.".
On the back of the postcard there are imprints from the illustration on the front. All printed text on the back of the postcard is in gold: "Post Card" at the top in large, fancy print; two sections: "This Space for Correspondence" and "This Space for Address Only". Green and white one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp in the upper right-hand corner. Black circular stamp with information regarding when and where this postcard was sent: "Elverson. Pa. / Feb / 15 / 4 PM / 1909". Handwriting in pencil on the back; note on left-hand side is partially gone due to a tear: "Your Valentine / ... Clara, M(?)"; note on right-hand side: "miss Elenna(?) Hedster(?) / Elverson / Pa".Collection
